Vijay Thiruvenkatam

Dr. Vijay Thiruvenkatam completed his PhD in physics from DRDE, Gwalior and Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (2009). From 2009-2012, he worked as NIH postdoctoral fellow in Harvard Medical School, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He worked on Down Syndrome Cell Adhesion Molecules called the Dscam essential for establishing neural circuits in his first post-doctoral fellowship at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. He then went on to work in structural biology group at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Structural investigation of GSAP an important protein in Alzheimer’s Diseases. He has 21 publications in ACS and IUCr crystallographic journals. He is a member of Indian Crystallography Association.
